In fact, if your home is as little as 5 to 10 years old, you likely have one of the 46 million under-insulated homes in the U.S. according to the Harvard School of Public Health.

Adding batt or blown-in insulation is important, and it is one of the your best option for improving the energy efficiency of your home.

Whether you are a home owner planing on insulating yout home, there are all kinds of insulation that you house need, it will make you home better also maximize the efficiency and the comfort of the home. • Provides a lifetime of energy saving

Things to consider when choosing an insulation product include:

  • Quality
  • professionalism
  • honesty quotes
  • professional estimators that know the work
  • Thermal performance
  • R - Values

However, you should also consider the overall lifetime performance of an insulation product as well as its related safety aspects prior to purchase and installation.

How Does Insulation Work?

Insulation works by providing resistance to heat flow.

  • Where heat is lost
  • Typical heat losses from an uninsulated house
  • In an uninsulated timber-framed house, 30–35% of heat is lost through the roof, 21–31% through the windows and 18–25% through the walls. The floor and air leakage account for the remaining heat loss.
  • R-values
  • Insulation performance is measured in R-values, which quantify the thermal resistance of a building material, or any part of a building such as the roof, wall, or floor.

Commercially available insulation materials are labelled with R-values. However, the R-value of any part of the building depends not only on the insulation but also on the thermal performance of other elements such as the framing and cladding.

High density materials such as concrete, brick or stone provide excellent thermal mass but have low R-values and so are poor insulators. Thin metals such as profiled steel claddings and fibre-cement sheets also have low R-values and are therefore also poor insulators.

To determine insulation requirements, it is necessary to calculate R-values for each part of the building. Call us to determine insulation requirements for your home or building.

  • Insulation slows heat losses from a building, either by using bulky, lightweight materials such as glass-fibre or wool between framing elements, and sometimes by using reflective materials to reflect heat back into the building.

Insulation is a very significant element in a building’s thermal performance, but it is not the only one. Even if a home is well insulated, heat can still escape through air gaps, windows, gaps in the insulation, and building elements such as framing.

A building’s thermal performance depends on all elements of the building working together.

Air Sealing?

when installed properly. Before insulating, seal any air leaks and make roof and other necessary repairs. If it is located in a conditioned part of the house.

Benefit of it.

When combined with the rest of your insulation system, effective crawl space insulation keeps outside air infiltration at a minimum, meaning your heating and cooling equipment does not have to operate as hard.

Attic Access.

also remember to insulate and air seal your attic access.

Air Sealing ?

Allergens and other irritants will have much more difficulty getting into your ventilation systems, ensuring the air in your home is as clean as possible.
